still a girl

I came across The Gender Genie on Dovegreyreader's blog. It uses an algorithm to predict the gender of the writer of a piece of writing pasted into the box. So I pasted some blog entries in. And it consistently thinks I'm male. Ah well, who wants to fit in a mould.

So I posted in some of Astrelle (let the reader understand) - i.e. written by a woman but translated by me, a chap, and it came out male. Doesn't prove anything, but it's interesting.

Looking at how it works, it's quite crude. But interesting nonetheless.

I just gave it everything that's currently on the front page of my knitting blog. And it thinks I'm male again.

I tried it with a couple of things from my blog, one of them - one of my recent posts came out female. So I tried the post from a while back about lorries and that came out male. Thought that was quite funny really :-)
